TO Flower MarketNothing says ‘Spring is in the air’ like fresh flowers, and I don’t mean the mix you get for $5.99 at your local supermarket. I’m talking fresh, locally-grown flowers from a flower market. And what better time is there for fresh blooms than a Mother’s Day weekend?

The Toronto Flower Market is an outdoor flower and plant market filled with a great selection of all thing floral. The flowers are provided by Ontario-based growers, and offer some of the best selections the province has to offer. If you’re looking to pick up some blooms for Mom this Mother’s Day, stop by the Toronto Flower Market this Saturday, from 10:00am to 3:00pm. This year the Market moves from last year’s venue, 99 Sudbury, to 1056 Queen Street West for it’s third instalment transforming the streets cape once again from grey to green.

TFM locationSo pick up your favourite cut, potted or bedding varieties to take home from the participating growers including Pioneer Flower Farms, UltraGrow, Dodd’s Greenhouses Ltd., Van Geest Bros Limited and others. But if you can’t make it this weekend, not to worry. The Toronto Flower Market will continue to run one Saturday a month until October.

TFM Date TimeThe floral-focused open air market is the first of its kind in the city, offering a rare chance to purchase cut and potted flowers direct from the greenhouses while supporting and getting to know local Ontario growers. If you didn’t have the opportunity to check it out last year, be sure to get there this year. It’s one of the fun things that bring just a little bit more joy to the weekend. Check out a few photos from last year’s event.
